Hi,

So landed back from Phoenix yesterday morning to get a call that I could pick the car up at 4:30pm that afternoon! Sorted insurance (7-day complimentary) got everything in order then turned up to pick it up.

Car was still in the back being valeted when we arrived so got the paperwork sorted out and tried to pay for it! Struggled with the latter as LloydsTSB had imposed a £30k daily limit on my debit card! Didn;t have this problem when payig for my Porsche, so must be a new thing in some small print in the crap they keep sending me in the post! Anyway, issue resolved (by the deaer, not by the bank!) and the car came through to the showroom.

The wife drove it home, and has taken it to work today, so my driving experience so far has only been a couple of mile I did last night around some of my local roads.

Initial impressions are great. Build quality is amazing. Seats are amazing. Engine noise outside, amazing (sounds a little too quiet inside for me). Looks amazing.

Most importantly for my wife, she said she drove into the centre of manchester this morning with no stares, no confrontations, no intimidation. The complete opposite of what she was getting in the Focus RS. So the wife is satisfied, and if the initial impressions hold true once I get to give the car a good run, then I am sure I will be too.

Looks lovely, congratulations. As for the noise, hold the revs a bit higher and its bound to please................

Looks lovely, and try driving with all the windows down if the split personality (outside; hooligan, inside; librarian) is getting to you :thumb:

I believe £30K is a normal debit card per-transaction limit these days, and anything over this will always need secondary verification via phone (in fact most banks go for 10K, depending on the customer history).

that is an effing nice looking motor :thumb:

Congratulations, excellent choice of car - very nice... :bannana:

With respect to the debit card issue, £30K would be quite generous as a standard per-transaction limit these days, and anything over this will always need secondary verification via phone (in fact most banks go for 10K - 15K, depending on the customer history). As you said the notification was probably in the small print somewhere on the back of one of your statements :D

I've paid for a couple of cars in the past this way but have always notified them in advance that we're going to be doing that. On one occassion it was fine and went through without any issue, the other time I needed to go through some security questions - no great hassle, best to be safe to be honest...

Found another pic from collection.

They are not great pics, sorry, but I'll try and get some decent ones soon. Unfortunately this is probably the cleanest this car is ever going to look!

couple of questions did you not consider the 19" alloys and new performance pack plus ?

PPP, not at that price. Rediculous amount of cash to not even include the diff! I wanted, and ordered the diff, though. I'm of the opinion that if 460bhp in a family car is not enough for you, then you're derranged! :P

19's, yes I considered them for about 20 seconds. I agree they look nicer, but having 18's and 19's for my Porsche and 17's, actually), I knew which I wanted for this car. Yes they look nicer, but I've given up on style-over-substance for wheels. I like to drive my cars, and big-wheel options is one fad I am truly over.

Looks lovely and I agree the smaller wheels and LSD are probably the best for " driving dynamics".

I hope you enjoy the car :D

lovely car, wait till the exhaust and components warm up, it will roar!

i had to o through 15 mins of security checks when paying £20K on my debt card, which i didnt really mind as it was a lot of money.

Now that is one very nice car. Muscled yet understated. I am sure you will have a great time with it.

I have found that if I tell the bank about a large transaction I have more problems than if I don't. One of the joys of modern life.

i know what you mean ive driven c43's with 17" and 18" the 18" were horrible

Nice and I like the estate version.

One of the only things I found from sitting in one (and I see you have a little one) is the back of the front seats its all one piece making their view of the front limited. Small point granted but I noticed it buy just sitting in the back.
