Hi Guys,

I'm getting new rims to protect the original ones.
But I'm doubting between 19" and 20".
(Rim will be a Team Dynamics Pro Race 1.3)

It's not my daily driver and only used for fun.
tyre- and rimwise pricing is almost the same.

But I'm afraid 20" will be to harsh and I will lose ride quality.
And also from a perfomance point of view....

any opinions or own experiences?

My view is 19" suit the C63 arch perfectly. 20" look just too big and spoil the side profile of the car. I'd imagine the ride would be pretty harsh.

dont put halfords wheels on a car of that calibre....

there are so many nice wheels out there why go team dynamics and join the array of saxps/106's/corsa/puntos etc

apologies if this upsets anyone

+3 after agonising for ages over 19's or 20's I made the mistake of recently buying 20 inch rims for my e55 I bought them of here they were described as excellent (some people on here pose as genuine but unfortunately are far from it but that's another story) but two were buckled had them straightened and refurbed they looked great but the ride was too harsh for me

There was a C63 on here around 9 months ago that someone had put 20" rims on - sorry, can't remember who - it made the usually large looking discs look ridiculously small, IMO stick to 19" wheels maximum, even then you may feel the ride a little more harsh than on 18" rims.

I think 19s suit it as well and unless you are going forged or a premium brand then just stick to oem

Unless the Government completely resurface our entire roadway system overnight, I would avoid 20" wheels of any kind.

All the time we are stuck with the third-world roads we have now, you need plenty of rubber to protect those precious rims.

I spent a fortune on my last car buying the lowest profile wheels I could afford, only to change back to standard after 6 months of having my fillings rattled-out..

Big rims with rubber-band tyres look great (generally) but are completely unsuitable on UK roads.

Dear Department of Transport.....Here's an idea; spend the bloody "Road Tax" on the roads!

euhm.....I'm buying them straight from TD, from their racing part of the business.
These are the strongest wheels I've tested so far and never had a failure on my racecars on and off track.
They are also gravel and tarmac approved for rally use.
Living in Belgium a strong wheel is needed as the roads are even worse than the ones in the UK.

I want to preserve the original wheels for later hence why I wanted to get something else.

furthermore I've tested them on the MB and they look sweet to me.

thanks for the comments guys...I'll stick to 19" :D

It's down to personal choice IMO. I have 20's and have to say ride quality hadn't changed from when had the 19's some like it with 20's some don't, everyone entitled to there own opinion so feel free to like or hate pic attached, I'm a big boy I won't get upset if some don't like, that's what this forum is for

It's alright that, you did well to get very similar to oem 19's, almost looks photoshopped

19" or 20" look nice i think 20" fill the rear arch better then 19" i have 19" and i think they look small on the rear

You need to lower your suspension Danny. 19"'s would look OK then although they look alright to me in your other post:thumb:

Well in that pic i think the 20" look too big
as they also make the brakes look so small :).

But as you said...will be personal choice and taste.

I was more afraid for issues with handling, ride quality,...

No issues with handing or ride quality
