A heavily modified e55. VW head office is local so there's always lots of high end ones prancing about and being thrashed, or driven as they should be depending how you look at it.
Nice, I used to have one. They're awesomely understated cars, that's for sure! Anyhow, I'm pretty sure my RS7 would make my CLS63 AMG S look silly so I can't really comment on your experience... Perhaps he wasn't a very good driver? Or it was a poor launch? Or perhaps it was a dud car? Who knows...

So when you quote headline figures, that's ok because it's backing your point up, but when someone else does, they don't know what they're talking about if it conflicts with what you say?
I actually didn't start by quoting any figures, I think you'll find that I was merely correcting your misconception... I.e. 620bhp as opposed to 550bhp. Chill out bud, this isn't a war!

I know, I just really struggle to believe that you made a SL65 look like it was going in reverse, just like you don't believe the C63 held its own with the RS7.

From what I've seen and read an rs7 would have no problem leaving the c63. I had this exact same conversation with my brother in law last year and think we could only find one video where they ran a rs7 against a c63. The Audi left it for dead. Saying that I'm sure it was from a standing start but the Audi kept pulling away the whole time.

I struggled to believe that a circa 2 tonne car can get from 0-60 in under 4 seconds, but it's true. Life is full of unexpected random events I'm afraid.

The RS6 in the video is the pre-facelift non-dynamic edition so I think it faired pretty well for a circa 2 tonne 4WD!

The RS7 is around 550/560 BHP, unsure of the weight but Prob more than a C63. My C63 is running eurocharged map so Prob around 500 ish bhp + secondry cat delete and Quaife ( not that it's relevant )...

I know for a fact the RS7 driver was going balls to the Wall as he overtook me at 100+ and was weaving in and out of traffic like an idiot, this is before I even started going for it myself. Also the "race" was a rolling start at high motorway speeds... I'm not saying the 63 would have overtaken, but the RS7 couldn't pull away cleanly and to be fair I was stringing out every last Rev.

End of the day the RS7 will be faster in probably every circumstance but when rolling at 60 mph + there's not that much in it, fact!

It's not random events though, we are dealing with facts.

Just to get this straight, I'm not denying the RS7 isn't crazy fast, that's a given, but do you really want me to believe that when you went past 100mph against a car that has more torque and more bhp at the wheels, not only did you beat it but you made it look like it was going in reverse?

Video posted is a drag, totally different to rolling starts at high speeds. Also I know the facelift C63 still has a single clutch trans but it's still fairly quick up the gears, as long u don't over Rev it...

Going by the 2015 specs, the C63 weighs in at 1715KG which if we take your output to be 500bhp on the dot, your power to weight ratio is 292bhp/tonne. On the other hand, the base model RS7 weighs in at 1930KG which works out at 290bhp/tonne. So whilst bearing in mind that it's a 4WD, at 500bhp, I'm surprised you didn't pull away.

Please see my post above, figures sell cars. Real world performance is, occasionally, completely different.

The RS7 also has a normal non-DCT 8 speed automatic. Granted, it's a much more sophisticated and adept transmission than the 7 speed MB box...

Whats with the Audi fan boys?:fail
Not really a fanboy, I just recognise superior automobile engineering when I see it. FYI - this is coming from someone who's just bought a brand new CLS 63 AMG S! :fail

AMG figures are normally very conservative though, and it's been proven on this very forum quite a lot.

Out of sheer boredom I spent 10 minutes on YT searching SL65 RS7 (not many results) but there were a few races between tuned RS6's and SL65's, one in particular had an RS6 at 750bhp and the SL at 730bhp and once the SL caught up after the slower start, it flew past it and that's at supposedly 20bhp less:

Genuine question but if you thought the RS7 such a near-perfect car, why get rid? Seriously?

Do you believe everything you find on YT? Besides, I don't see how this RS6 is a fair comparison to my RS7...
