The inside of my 18" AMG wheels have old weight glue on them

Once I have the winters swapped out for new summer tyres, I want to wipe them inside down to get the dirt/muck/ discolouration from old weight glue off

What's the most straightforward and modest cost option?
I am currently thinking a decent wipe over with white spirits.....?

Recommendations appreciated

Whilst the wheels will be off (one by one using a trolley jack) I intend to freshen up the brake callipers as after 6 years then are starting to look a little poor

Subtle silver will suffice

As I understand it, cleaner with a decent brush and then paint (I am not spraying - will use a brush)
Halfords do caliper paint but is this decent enough or is there a better modestly priced alternative?

Again recommendations appreciated

Thanks

There's a product called goo gone that is brilliant for removing sticky residue from weights and badges

Autoglym Intensive Tar Remover, oh and get a heat gun or use a hair dryer to soften the glue - comes off a lot easier but is still a pain to do.

For painting the calipers, Hammerite Smooth Silver works a treat with two coats on unfinished steel calipers.
