Calling all E55 owners

I have just bought an E55 AMG and wondered where you guys get your insurance from and roughly how much.
My current insurers will give me cover, but I think it's a bit steep at £804.27
Anyone beat this?

Hi,

I shopped around an awful lot for insurance when I bought my Ml. The best quote I got was from Direct Line at £370 fully comp £200 excess. Interestingly when direct line send out a renewal its worth going through their website as new customer. Enter all the details exactly as they appear on your renewal (dont lie) and hey presto the quote will be cheaper than their renewal. Tell them you wont be taking the renewal and then take out their insurance from the website! I know its not an E55 but some quotes I got were about £1,000, some less but the best was direct line by far.

Try confused.com, they came out best for my SL500, which is also group 20

Now got the price down to £527-79 :bannana: :bannana:
Might settle for that one

I tried Dierct line for my old E55 ... went through all the questions over the phone only tobe told right at the end that they dont cover cars in that group ! boy was I annoyed - what a waste of time that was. Same thing with Norwich direct and another I cant remember but it was a Royal & Sun Alliance owned company

Strangely, Royal & Sun Alliance have insured me for years thru my broker who always seems to reccomend them as the best deal for specialist & performance cars. they insure all 3 of our cars all in my name . Strangely again RSA wont deal with me directly.

I get my insurance through GSI in Gravesend. I pay £580 fully comp Protected and thats with the AMG Bodykit and alloys declared. I am sure they would be cheaper for a standard AMG. 01474359117 GSI.
By the way great choice of car wish I could get one.

I was pretty lucky to find this car. The condition is well above average, the only slight scrapes being on the bumpers.

My insurance just fell about £700 because I'm now over 25, so I don't complain about insurance any more

If only parktronic alerted other drivers to their position in relation to your car rather than the other way around! Now that'd be useful!

Thanks for the info on the insurance, just insured my E280 with Brabus Monobloc IV 18" Alloys specified for £562 comp protected with First Alternative.
