camskill tyres

Used Tyreleader for some tyres a couple of weeks ago and they sent the correct type but the wrong DOT rating for age. Not impressed, especially as the new tyres they are saying are now unavailable.

I think you have to be careful with Tyreleader as they will advertise the same tyre but with different ages, eg DOT2016, DOT2013 etc. I ordered brand new tyres but was sent the cheaper and older manufactured DOT2016 tyres. I wonder how many buyers check the DOT rating and get caught out.

Interestingly they’ve accepted it’s their mistake (through / at a distributor in Yorkshire) and have arranged for the tyres to be collected, plus upon receipt at their warehouse they will issue a refund (all in will be 3 weeks from point of order!). This is great for Tyreleader as they get their tyres back, but for me I am left with nothing after three weeks! So I am back to square one! I Have just asked if they can offer a voucher or discount on my next order for my inconvenience! If not then I’ll have no option but to leave negative feedback.

I have used them once before with no problems.

I've said this before, the mark of a good company is how they react to a problem. On that basis I find Tyreleader to be the worst company I've ever dealt with.

Wow, that’s really quite an accolade!

I’ve had good and bad experiences over the years with various companies/organisations/individuals but am surprised to see an online tyre supplier to be top of the pops! :D

Oponeo I found annoying a few years ago when they messed me around but I got there in the end. I wish it was the worst company I’d had to deal with though! :)

I Ordered 2 front tyres for my S211 on Saturday from Camskill and received today. I have used them 4 or 5 times before without issue.

I’m really not impressed with TyreLeader.

They’ve apologised for their mistake but aren’t bothered at all that I’ve had my time wasted by them and still won’t get a refund until the tyres have reached “their” warehouse. I asked for a goodwill gesture of a voucher or discount code to consider buying again from them, but obviously a different set of tyres, but they refused stating;

“Unfortunately we are not able to give you any disocunt (yes they spelt it this way lol) as different parcels come from different warehouses”.

Not quite sure what impact that has, I gather they purchase tyres from multiple 3rd party warehouses, but as the main seller they should still take full responsibility.

So in a nutshell, they are selling Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2 as both “new” and DOT2016, but at different prices (DOT2016 cheaper). I ordered “new” and received DOT2016 which I don’t want. On since checking with Goodyear, they state they haven’t made the F1 Asymmetric 2’s for quite a while as it was superseded by the Asymmetric 3. TyreLeader have confirmed they don’t actually supply the “new” Asymmetric 2 anymore (there’s a surprise!) only the DOT2016. My gut feel is that the Asymmetric 2 finished in 2016, hence only DOT2016 are available as old stock. Anybody that buys “new” ones will receive DOT2016, but as most wont bother checking them they’ll never know.

They were collected today, so now have to wait until they arrive at the warehouse until they will issue me a refund.

Bit of a ramble, but there you go.

I’ve now ordered “new” MPS4S from Blackcircles.....

I've highlighted earlier on this thread about my problems with them, used them 3 times and twice they got it wrong, so never again for me.
But, did you get a tracking number for your order?
My last order with them had to be returned to their warehouse in Germany before I could get my refund. The original tracking number still worked on their return journey and believe it or not, they were returned from the UK to the German warehouse and then sent back to the UK for delivery again. This happened three times! Each time they arrived with the UK courier, they sent them back and did not try to deliver them to me again, so that added another couple of weeks onto the time waiting for my refund.
When this company gets it wrong, they really know how to make everything as bad as it could possibly be and the customer is the last person they think about.

^ I have also had a few dealing with Tyreleader in the past and not had a single problem.
But reading of these other cases leads me to now cross Tyreleader off my list of online suppliers in the future.

The last thing you need when you are waiting for new tyres to arrive are problems.
Tyreleader were unbeatable on price, but paying a bit more with a guaranteed problem free delivery is more important.

Mine are being sent back to a warehouse in York (RC Bond)
