Car nearly stalls when selecting drive.

My car clk 270 nearly stalls when selecting drive or reverse,It's worse when cold and has stalled a couple of times. Once driving along it's fine, it's just the initial first selection.

My CLK55 w208 was having similar issues with stalling when idling at traffic lights etc. and generally quite lumpy running. So I replaced the MAF under the air filter cover and this fixed the stalling issue, however the car is still a little lumpy and feels like it is running off a cyclinder??

My MAF was just over £100 and well worth replacing, have you looked at this?

Thanks, However as i said it's only when selecting drive, once in drive it's fine, runs fine and doesn't stall when stopped.

It sounds like a torque converter issue. Does it do it when warm?

No, once warmed up completely its fine. Is that something you guys can do?
