Cars stolen from northwood now! W140 reg T8 SFP & W211 reg B4 BBG

Maybe the answer is to leave the keys accessible but to disable the ignition system of the car making it impossible to start - villain just gets frustrated and does a runner.

Glad the 140 has been recovered as that would have been the most difficult to replace! Fingers crossed it should be relatively undamaged bearing in mind they had the keys.

Great idea but there's always the chance that the "villain" will smash the car up or simply torch it out of frustration.

I hope they get enough forensic evidence to nail the B******s and find your E class Nav, i dony know how i would feel if my car was stolen, or if i would actually want it back.

Fingers crossed they find some evidence :thumb:

I hope the car is in as good condition as what you kept it in.

G-Force.. very true..

ever since our robbery, when we got the cars back, for the first 1-2 years we felt the car was not the same.. pscological issues..

in the s class, the finger print dust remained for 2-3 yrs after, as they really get the dust everywhere, and it doesnt just come out.. like in the rubber seals of the window.. there always remains that subtle residue of forensic dust that catches you eye when u dont want it to...

Boss,
Many years ago i served my time as an alarm engineer and used go to break-ins and i remember the scenes and the poor victims, a lot of people felt their property had been violated and ended up moving as they no longer felt it was "theirs".
I imagine i would be the same.
Just a shame the s**t heads that do this kind of thing have no concept of working to save up for things or loss when personel belongings are stolen from them and seem to sleep easy at night.
I just wish the punishment fitted the crime including the mental feelings that the victims can carry for a long time after the actual event.

Id like to see theifs caught and get their fingers broken.

Your spot on about the forensic dust......

Good news, I hope the car is okay.

Just logged on today after a few days off. Glad one has been found. One more to go. Good luck.

S Class arrived back to me on Thursday, pretty much the same condition as it left me.

Only prob is we have no keys at the moment for it so can't really tell if there's any other issues. Its covered in finger print dust inside and out so will need a full valet.

It will probably be sold very shortly as i think we have all fallen out of love with it, so watch this space for a 1 owner 39k S500. Just waiting for the insurance to replace the keys/locks.

No sign of the W211 though, so i've purchased a 2006 E320 CDI as i needed a car and the Ford Ka my insurance gave me was a joke

"Keep a low profile". That means, don't show off, don't attract attention, and you won't be treated any differently from other people...

Sorry to hear that. I had an MGB stolen/recovered years ago. It wasn't worth having back, but at least it was easily replaced like for like. Not the case with yours.

Is the car really any the worse for its experience, or are you more concerned that it may become a target? It would be a pity to lose such a special car through this experience, but I understand how you must feel. Perhaps after a bit of time it could become an intriguing part of its history, assuming all is okay, rather than something to distance yourself from?

These people really are toe rags.
