cats and soft tops

I had one of those ultrasonic cat scary things, £30 from B&Q. It chewed batteries, did not cover a big enough area and once the batteries get low, humans can here it which p1ssed off my neighbours!

does citrus juice or lemon juice have any bleaching effects (roof is red)?

You can get movement-triggered ultrasonic emitters ... no idea how effective but might be worth a try?

Battery Ultrasonic Cat Scarer - Garden Pest Control - Garden Equipment - Gardening - Suttons Seeds and Plants

I placed three of these around my car port. Unfortunately, the car that liked sitting, sleeping, molting and dribbling on my cars was so old he was apparently also hard of hearing...

I ended up placing a netted curtain around the car port at night to keep the cat out. This went on for about eight weeks. The cat either died or found somewhere that he's welcome as I not needed the net for over a year now.

I'm sure the internet knows the answer to this but you could always leave the peel on the bodywork.

Hey Sean,

If this is the first incident where you have found droppings etc on your car, would it not be worth waiting to see if it happens again first, before looking to surround your car with repellents on a daily basis?

I don't remember you ever mentioning this happening before, so it may be that this was just a one-off and may not happen again.

Might save you money and time on repellents if this is not likely to happen again.

I am inclined to think that it was a fox that randomly found its way into the parking area, rather than a cat that has just moved in to the underground parking area.

it is the first time droppings have been left. paw prints previously, yes.

I haven't decided to do anything yet .. apart from the pepper.

I am hoping that it is a one off .. but paw prints have now happened 2x in a week.

I don't really want to have to have one one more thing to do .. as I'm lazy.

Lol... Fooman is funny :D

I don't think it will happen often, if at all again.
It's not as if yours is the only car in there, so for the culprit to repeatedly select your car would be pretty unlikely I reckon.

You could always get up on the roof and curl your own fresh biscuit and spill some of your own pee?

That should both confuse and deter the culprit... and any onlookers

lots of paw prints, mud and fur all over the car and roof this morning ..

pepper does not work.

most of the pepper still in place.

not sure if cat/fox actually spent time on roof or wandered over the car looking for alternatives.

time to get into ultrasonics me thinks.

What a pain Sean, that would really pi$$ me off.

Blimey. Sorry to hear its still going on, Sean :(

I got one of these which was recommened by a friend:

Repel Cats Fast - Cat Deterrents | Cat Repellents | Cat Scarer}

Took about 3 weeks for it to get rid of cat completely, it came back less and less untill finally not at all. Cats are very stuborn creatures and will keep coming back untill they find somewhere more comfortable. I'm not sure on how long the batteries last, as I hard wired mine.

it's an urban fox .. I saw it last night as I drove into the garage ..

have ordered some "Scoot" which is an effective fox repeller according to The Fox Project
