It'd be a jolly good wheeze as a company car - and , I'd imagine , rates would be pretty good since I'd expect resale value at end of lease to be a high proportion of the new cost due to rarity .
A friend (who is a genuine fruitcake) had a Dutton Phaeton (which nearly killed him on several occasions) in which he wore a flying jacket, goggles and white silk scarf, the latter disappointingly limp until he sorted it by straightening a wire coat hanger and sticking it down the length of the scarf.
I only got as far as string back driving gloves!
I think 30 grand for this will get it a lot of interest. That chrome too - when did a car come out with proper chrome to polish away....
I wonder how they get around the crash test requirements ? ? ?
I mean the air bag quota looks zero as does the protective padding on the steering wheel.
And I cant see that engine at the front offering much in the way of pedestrian protection.
AKAIK the crash legislation for low volume car production is quite basic, mostly focused around steering column displacement in a front crash. Most OEMs focus heavily on optional consumer tests like EuroNCAP, but I can't see Morgan and Morgan customers being too bothered about those.
There's quite a lot of chatter about this in the Lotus community. Lotus are trying to go high-end so owners are wondering where the next affordable British sports car will come from. Enter Morgan stage left.....

There's a review in this months Motor Sport for anyone interested. The 1982 cc engine is evidently made by US V twin specialist S&S--who also make engines for Harley Davidson The gearbox is Mazda MX5 derived and the aluminium body made by Premier Sheet Metal in Coventry.
Dear old Morgan cars have re-created a three wheeler, and what a joy to behold. I particularly like the idea of the starter button being the firing button from the Typhoon. Chocks away, chaps!
I sat inside one of these cars today. A lovely sense of occasion, with my elbow sticking out the side and looking over the large steering wheel to the V-twin engine. Quite a ridiculous car in many ways, but great.
Apart from the asking price and waiting list I wont be buying one. Being 6'2 I'm way too tall for one. Owners need be 5'10 or less I say....and not too wide either.
