Chrome key!!!

I got mine 2 weeks ago and mine was already coded to my car!! Did't have to do anything like that.

I thought it was a bit strange but thats what he asked me to do on collection. Did anyone else have to do this?

When I got mine a couple of weeks ago - the guy mentioned they didn't need to re-code anything (implying sometimes they do). From what I've read I think there are three different code ranges for each key and either the DAS or the key might need to be told which one to use (but normally it's the first?)

I didn't need to take any ID type stuff - but new key was arranged (and paid for) by the (non-MB) dealer I got the car from a few weeks beforehand, so perhaps they trust the trade (to be fair they were known to the MB dealer and had an "account").

I've suggested to the current Mrs Geezer what she could get for the man in her life (me, I think! ) who has everything and she was quite receptive but I had just bought her an expensive meal! :)

But you have her in beds :D

I understand that this type of key is being used for Keyless go now, with the old card you got 2 cards and 2 keys, now you just get the 2 keys

Yes Malcolm, i enquired when i ordered the W221 you don't get the card anymore just keys.

I have Keyless Go on the W220 which i like because the card fits into my credit card case saves having to carry keys in your pocket, i don't see the point in Keyless Go now and for £880.00 i decided against it.

Thats a shame, one of my last keys failed a 60c wash, but at least I can buy new ones
