Had the engine management light come on the other day
The car seemed unaffected, but obviously not a good idea to ignore it. Either have the car checked at a dealer/specialist, or put the cash into a scanner.
For £30 off ebay I decided to go for the scanner first-U480 EOBD11.
The scanner arrived soon enough and after plugging into the socket under the steering wheel, the code PO410 secondary air injection system malfunction was read. I decided to reset, as I would expect the light to come back should the fault remain. Although it may have its limitations, for £30 seems a worthwhile buy.
