A **** heap
Just wanted to throw this Q out there really...
has anyone on here installed any car audio into a clk convertible/coupe?
wanted really to see options/opinions.

excellent, i look forward to seeing it, as ive got 95% of the equipment ready to install, just looking at different options at the moment :D

Give me a couple of days and i'll have mine done and pictures up on the site!

There are 2 main areas you need to make sure that have sound deadaning. Always yuse the most expensive matting you can afford.

Finishing off is also key!

Make sure you have adequate cooling also (note last picture is taken with falsh so you can see through the cover that was made - it has a hole to aid ventilation and cannot bee seen under normal lighting)

What equipment have you got lined up to go in?

You have the serious challenge, because yours is a cabrio...
The last convertible i did was a R129 SL, it became so apparent that we didn't have a chance of getting it nicely in the boot with space to spare that the guy gave up his back seat and we turned that into the sub box, amp rack and everything and it was still low enough that he could get a few bags on top of it as well if needs be.

Start on the W208 install again today, have managed to get the amps, amp links, p/cap, PXA, iPod box and most of all the cables in :D

Looking very good!! bet you're having fun having to mount bits here, there and everywhere!

P.S. That looks like a control unit from Mercman under the H701!

thank you, just got to set up the pxa next :S should be fun!!
yeah i think it is from mercman, as mine failed ages ago :(

How's it sounding? Got the replacement speakers in? Started some tweaking yet?

After only changing my rears speakers and fitting one amp this weekend I can understand how much work has gone into this. Good effort, and thanks for the pics.

Cheers Ian
