Have had a quick look around and cannot find anything that helps.

I need to remove the boot lid lining/trim so i can get to the screws in the number plate. Long story :wallbash:

Can anoyone advise as to how i would go about removing the boot lid trim and get to the screws..

There are screws in the trim that just have a mercedes sign on them can they just be popped out?

Need this info ASAP as there is no plate on the car.

Pop them out.
You can do this with a couple of screwdrivers either side of the pin that pushes into the retainer, but it tends to distort it.

Sorted the booting lining now.

I used a piece of plastic to pry the inside screws out of their holder.. then the whole thing came out. So the boot lining is off.. Sorted.

Now i have a bigger problem.. My number plate screws are a pain.. 3 out of 4 on the rear came out with a bit of elbow grease. However the 4th doesn't want to budge it just keeps turning and turning! So i had to snap the plate off to get the washer, griped it with pliers and still doesn't want to move!

So now im stuck with no rear plate on the car, 1 screw hanging out of the hole and no idea what to do about it!

any suggestions?

How do i drill it out? Not sure if you know this (I assume you do, being a Mercedes man :) ) But the W208 has fixtures that sit behind the metal, behind the number plate. They look like lighthouses but in metal if that makes sense?

Basically you've got something like this >

(ScrewHead)-(Washer)-(Metal)----- Now inside the boot lid after taking off the lining ( Long light house sort of raw plug? if that makes sense? the rest of the screw goes into this raw plug, lighthouse sort of thing.

So how would i go about drilling that out?

Many thanks
