CLK boot lid star badge - easy to fit?

Mercedes recently fitted a new one, but it doesn't appear to be flush with the bodywork (looks poor)...

They said they will give me a free replacement. However I wonder if I might do a better job fitting myself.

Does anyone know of photos showing how these fit onto the boot lid?

It just plugs in (you just push it in firmly into the pin holde slots). They are cheap to buy as well.

Very easy to snap though, make sure you have it the right way up, and take your time with it

I removed the one from my R170 by sliding a credit card underneath, and along the lines of the star.

Fitting a replacement was a simple push fit into nylon bushes.

Resurrecting an old thread rather than start a new one. Some goon has had a go at the boot badge on my CLK (not had it two weeks) and broke the ring.

Does anyone know the part number for the CLK boot star?
