If the Bootlid is like the one on the W202 , its just a spring thats adjustable.

my problem is the other way round, I release the boot and the lid opens so violently that the car rocks, if a cat was sitting on the boot it would get thrown onto the bonnet!

Got stealer to adjust it and they cannot fix the problem!

they moved the springs to the 'weakest' position and still i have a grenade thrower

silver saloon, would you like to swap springs?

i think the cabrio doesnt have springs, it has pnematic pump type things (like the bonnet)

Be carefull if you adjust the springs. Mine was adjusted by the dealer and 2 days later the spring snapped and it came down on the back of my head.
I still have the scar.

No the cabrio is not supposed to pop up at all. The remote will just open it, then you have to lift.

Mine does (pop up). A bit slow, and on a cold day it'll not quite get all the way, but normally it's fine.
