Clk W208 - Front Grille with big Mercedes badge
Seriously it must be possible but I've not found a way yet. The 208 headlamps and grill are too tall to pull off the shallower BSG of the later coupés. I've wondered if some kind of filler panel at either the top, bottom or both of the grill would trick the eye into thinking it's shallower and allow for a BSG to be fitted but the width/height ratio is almost always wrong.Hallelujah , the voice of reason !!
MB wanted the 208 to look like the 210 and fitted it with a similar shaped grill, there is little you can do to improve the look of it. Don't like it? Get a 209.

I almost went and did this mod to mine as I found a pic on the net where it really did look good. In the end, I have stuck with my gunsight. I still like the look though of the grill/star combo

i wouldent do it to mine it looks to ebay, that grille o that silver 430 looks well out of place..but then that white ones grille on the first page looks ok with it a lot better than any others on here

I agree with everyone about the OEM grille looking good, but I personally don't think the new type grille looks THAT bad as everyone makes it sound.
I am still contemplating, I will think carefully

at the end of the day, its your ride, so do what you feel is right. other peoples comments, good bad or indifferent do not really come into it (as long as you dont have both grill and bonnet stars, as thats sooo wrong)

At the risk of stirring something up (would I...)
- I'm okay with the big star, I think they really suit the sleek W208 much better than the standard grille which look too old-fashioned on that car IMHO
- Think excessively over size wheels are totally chavvy though..tells me that the owner, well....
Makes me smile that big stars (nothing beyond cosmetic) get the fusilade on this forum, yet daft wheels (aka self-mutilated ride comfort, steering issues etc. etc.) seem to escape 'the opinion'....
