CLS problem

you should have got a 55 ... :)

Who knows. I'll just want reliability. I don't ever drive fast enough to make all this worthwhile!

me too, but I cannot face a lexus, but I cannot be fecked with money pits that are off the road 3 weeks a pop.

Nice c/e 220cdi pre BE 5g should be ok. If not, a BMW next.. ;)

Thing is, this is my 4th MB and so far 2 of the previous ones were money pits. The 211 on the otherhand was excellent (why did I sell!!!!) so I decided to give MB another chance as I really fancied a CLS. But, if this proves to be heading towards being a money pit like the other 2, I won't touch an MB again. Lexus GS maybe? Who knows. I'll just want reliability. I don't ever drive fast enough to make all this worthwhile!

I like the idea of a GS but it's an ugly bugger though isn't it?

true..not dull...
Fingers crossed the CLS works out 'cos it is a stunning car! :D

Though I do like the look of the E Class coupe.. :) Damn MBs, get under your skin don't they!

Like a good mistress then.. :ban:

Sorry to hear of this, not good!

As a newish v6 owner.. this also has me worried.. what happens if the car has FSH outside of MB? as this is a fault and MB are "acknowledging" this - whats the liklihood of a car that has part MB history having this repaired under goodwill?

Also sorry to see it go wrong so soon (or a fault show up so soon) - especially as you were so excited about it. Let's hope this is all that's wrong - or else you could end up with an old W123 300D (will outlive everyone here put together!)

Seems to be the more enthusiastic the owner the worse the car is. Like Barry I was initially overjoyed with my new to me car. Now look what's its making me do...consider BMWS

Cruel these MBs aren't they!!! :D

we sell lots of V6 CDI's and get a lot in for service and have never seen this issue? Only vaguely remember reading of an issue on here but i certainly wouldnt say its common.
I think the V6 engines and the 7 speed boxes are absolutely fantastic.

Then I must be the unluckiest person on this forum, I have had this problem twice on my ML.

BP, just been unlucky, but lucky that the fault was found whilst still in warranty and its getting done... end of..

enjoy the car after that, ignore all the tosh about rushing to buy the car etc etc... you could have bought another one and it may have had totally different range of probs and a dealer that was unhelpfull.

its a car, there will always be problems of one sort or another, dont let it dishearten you and enjoy the damb thing once its fixed!

Thanks Alps!
Funnily enough, that's exactly what wifey said last night on Skype! In all other respects, this CLS seems to be a great car (I think The Boss was impressed with it yesterday..after he persuaded me to get it washed!!! Incidentally, his S5 Cab is amazing!!! ) so once the repair is done, I'll relax and enjoy it! I think it's going to be in good hands actually because MB Oxford would seem to have a good reputation.. :)

See what happens on monday...

One came towards me on my walk to work and as it drove past they are very very sleek.

It was a 57 plate and looked great.

For the £ they look a really stylish car. I'm sure if they fix it right (which sounds like they are doing) you will kiss and make up :)
