The CLS is in for an A service next week, keeping it with the dealer again for MDSH and I have a £70 off voucher so no point in really going elsewhere.

The car is 7 years and 1 month old and I asked if there was a discounted labour rate for older cars to which the service advisor didn't answer. Helpful.

Anyway, they quoted a price of approx. £430 to supply and fit a new passenger side window regulator whilst it's in which seems on the high side, reportedly some other CLS owners have had these done around the £250 mark at the dealer. The part looks to cost £139 from MB.

I will probably end up just taking it to an independent for the job but any idea what the book time is for the job so I can try to negotiate something less crazy and save myself another trip elsewhere? I know there is a DIY on the forum and indeed a repair kit on ebay but I don't have time to work on it at the moment really and not fully confident in my DIY skills unless anyone can convince me that it's a piece of cake.

hi

Can you use a spanner ? this job is not brain surgery ,just take pictures as you go along. Just done mine ,but on an older 260e. Pick up a spare from ebay .But first find out just what it is .Remove door card ,so you can see the regulator. Check the wires for 12volt power. You can see this on youtube to give you an idea.If you have no 12volt power on the conecter ,check fuses and relay for the windows. Other members will be on later to help as well.
