Comand map updates

We have an April 2013 E-Class Cab with NTG4.5 Comand. Car came with 3 years free map updates. I know it needs an update which I could get main dealer to do now.
As a rough guide, how often are new maps available?
Is there likely to be another update before April 2016?

Yes there is a new NTG 4.5 map about to be released.

I am also keen to get this update.

From the German site below, my firmware is pretty old. Does the firmware get updated with the map disc or will I need to book into the dealer to get it updated?

Firmware is updated separately on your car. Your dealer can do it or we can do it for you. 01276 474900

The new map disk is imminent for NTG 4.5. Id expect it in about 2 - 3 weeks.

Thanks, I'll give you a call once the disks are available then as I am after having speed limit assist coded when I get the upgraded camera

We can get the map pins, but the update disk is still not available.
