Comand versus not comand

Have you been to see it? It's very close to my house I have been over to Luton to have a look when the dealership was closed. The fact that it has a non-standard supercharger puts me off. For the sake of 10k miles I'd go for the one in horsley to be honest.

Haven't seen it, the 52 plate and the small screen comand screen put me off... Ugly looking with the small screen, probably because I have the big screen comand in my E320 CDI now lol.

I'm planning to keep the E55 for a long long time, so need something I really like.

When I was looking for a ML, I faced the same issue -comand or no comand.
As so few MLs here in N.Ireland have comand, I opted to do without. Later I bought a unit from China which does everything comand does ( in fact more)
at a fraction of the price of the MB item ( 1/7th to be exact) Best of all, I defy anyone to tell that it is not Comand . The local dealers think I got comand retro-fitted ! Certainly the unit performs better than the one in the SL.

That's very useful information, could you perhaps link us to the item and or seller of this Comand replacement, I am sure many on here would be happy with an alternative.

Tricky if you have a high budget, go message TDE1... he has a mint black E55 (I think 55 plate) for sale with many options.

I would have bought TDE1's car by now but my budget does not go that far.

I am wondering the same, I dont like my comand, its got no bluetooth and the sat nav on my phone is better, is the NTG 2.5 any better?

I have seen some aftermarket all singing and all dancing fitted into a CLS and it looks fine.

We should compare notes. I have tried / investigated most of the cars on autotrader between 9 and 12 grand being sold by the trade.

I would want to rip out the pre 2009 comand anyway, it is so dated.
I would buy a car without and spend £500-1000 putting the later NTG2.5 in, even that is getting dated now, but not archaic like the earlier one.

I have an m3 with sat nav designed in 2000 - now that's archaic !

Just put a pioneer double din unit in, looks good, integrates with all the controls, and can do things command can only dream of.
