Please feel free to send me a copy of the CD and I will cvheck it out on my car.

I got the vehicle back last week but was unable to respond for a while.
As mentioned previously, the Engineering Menu showed that the software on our model was still dated 2003 - ie. no updates had been done at all even though the vehicle was only serviced the MB agents.
I requested that they please update the COMAND software when I took the vehicle in to replace the brakes pads. They did not know what I was talking about. I then showed them the what the latest version of the software available was by giving them the part number of the disc (I found that in this thread - thank you.)
After a bit of resistance, they agreed to contact Mercedes-Benz themselves - what do you know? There is an update
They downloaded the update, created a disc and then updated the COMAND. Unfortunately now, I cannot access the Engineering Menu to see what version we're running, but my initial goal has been achieved - we can now play MP3's on the COMAND unit.
I would have liked to still have access to the Engineering Menu to enable Video In Motion - not to play DVD's, but to see the Menu of the DVD for the MP3's. We can play MP3 on either CD or DVD. With the DVD software, we can create some nice menus which enables one to select songs via a particular artist or from a particular album, etc. This is only available when not moving.
Anyway, thanks for the information guys.
