Considering a W211 E55K

Can the 180mph clocks be retrofitted BTW? Or the E63 clocks?

Yes they can. Either the 200mph clocks from the 54 reg 55K's or the black clocks from an E63.
There is some coding involved to get them to work along with mileage corrections.

Here's mine

How does the 55k handle higher miles? Would you walk away from a sub 10k car?
Recently there was an E55K up for sale with just over 200k miles on.

Just keep in mind that even the youngest ones will now be at least eleven years old and at only 10k a year that's an average 110k miles.

Last time I bought front brakes for an E55K a couple of years ago maybe, it was £230 for the pads and £80 each for the disks.

Thanks.

Are there any other retro fits that can be done? Front and rear pdc?

Can the rev limit be raised above 6500rpm on the E55?

Purchase a m156 c63 far superior car that revs further.

Mine has been mapped and it rpm is nearer 7k than 6,

My point was, with our engines there is big torque available low in the rev range. (Modded just increases the smile factor) My father owns a modified v8 esprit, which needs revs for anything to happen. I've already had my fun and backing off in my car.

And my point was "yes it can" but as you have said its doesn't really need it.

Mine been de-limited so thats probably why.

I like revs. My M5 revs to 7k, just wondered if it would be possible to do the same.

As mentioned though, doesn't seem needed which is fine. I want to make sure that I can shut down some supercharged M5's in the process as well. Petty? me? maybe LOL

Ball park, what does it cost for the headers, pulley, tune and tcu remap? And at what point should I be considering the upgraded I/C pump?

Do the pump regardless if your modding. Speak to Acid, i had 77mm pulley kleemann headers from him for a few grand, with the Dyno runs. Did my split cooling with two i/c pumps myself, & some other stuff.

Thanks.

Is the split cooling a necessity? Is there a guide on this anywhere?

Is it also worth going for larger injectors?

I'd say cooling upgrades to keep the iats low is needed for 77mm pulley. What are you planning on doing with car?

Driving quickly lol.

Joking aside, I want a quick car that I can accelerate in quickly, and do 1/4 runs. I do not have the time for track days unfortunately.

There are lots of guys on hear with different cooling upgrades. Alx is one of the obvious ones to ask, as I suspect there is little he hasn't done. Plus done it himself to advise. Runway and Santa pod was always my plan also. (When I find time to get back to working on the car)

I kept getting boost cut, I'm running a 83mm pulley,

Johnsons cm30 pump and a Very large H/c sorted that out been spot on since.

What brand heat exchanger have you got Gav?
