Hi Folks
2009 W211 with phone pre-wiring and iPhone 4 cradle.
Problem with iPhone 4 (not upgraded to IOS6 yet). I uploaded contacts successfully. But... I can make calls using bluetooth connected direct to COMAND. Select number from steering wheel buttons: you can hear the phone ringing and the called party answers no problem.
But when I connect the phone to the MB cradle, there's a problem. It's properly connected, according to the COMAND screen. And you can scroll through the contacts using steering wheel buttons. But when you try to call, it tells you it's connecting and then connected. But there's no sound. You can't hear the dial tone ('connecting' is shown on the screen), there's no ring tone, the display tells you it's connected - but complete silence!
I've tried increasing the volume adjustment, but makes no difference (and afaik it shouldn't be needed). Erased all contacts and reinstalled them. Again nothing on the convenience phone and works fine via a direct bluetooth connection to COMAND.
Should say that when my iphone is shown on the main screen everything's OK. When convenience phone is shown - that's when the problems start.
I guess I'm doing something wrong, and probably being a bit dumb - but what?
Usually I'd have the phone in my pocket so OK, it's workable for the daily commute. But for a long drive of 4 or 5 hours which I do occasionally - especially through poor reception areas - I'd like to have the option for having the phone in the cradle where it will recharge and get better reception.
By the way COMAND software has been updated to latest version just a few week ago.
Some advice would be gratefully received!
Many thanks
