Could we tactfully suggest the photographer might well have very kindly sharpened the picture with the aid of Photoshop?

I am so pleased my faith in human nature has been restored, but I still believe Unit504 is an extremely knowledgeable person in regard to Photoshop issues.

If that car was to drop vertically from that height without any forward momentum then the effects would certainly spoil your day. Who watches down hill ski-ing? Just look at the amazing leaps these crazy folks achieve.

Regards,
John

He had to use something to put his sig on so I do recognise that Photoshop/similar has been used. My point was it's not faked.....

The effects of the landing spoilt his day anyway! he now has an injured back, burst shocks and body damage - you wouldn't normally worry, but on a WRC car the shocks are about £2k each.....

If you've ever been to a down hill ski or ski jump competition you'll realise that they're not actually jumps, just controlled falls:crazy:

:) I just hope this experience doesn't stop you from posting these impressive photographs.

You are a sceptical lot.......

 Thanks for the video, seems there was quite a fabulous jump there and seems I was wrong in my assumptions that it was false. Teaches me to do the maths next time. I must say in my defense that on the video the car looks much less high up in the air. Not sure why, perhaps camera angles or something.

When we landed we were both winded and the shockers burst thats what caused the fire, the boot and rear quarters are bent down about 6 inches

No surprises there, the forces exerted on that car's suspension must have been quite astonishing - I would love to have been able to see the inside of that car .

Never again i am in so much pain today.

yet know f*ck all about motorsport.....

This I don't understand. I like cars and driving them. I don't like motorsport at all. I didn't know it was compulsory .

Just having a rant.... Cars fly in a particular manner and the way they fly is indicative of the forces they're under - speed, trajectory etc. I look for different things in a faked photo, suspension droop, car angle etc. Maybe it's because of my anorak status....:o I even study Roary's jumps when my son watches it.....

I'd be happy to post more pics - there's some spectacular stuff happens on rallies and the photos are just awesome.

I for one enjoy seeing these pictures.

Regards,
John

Some hellish nose dives going on!

lol :D :D

I'll dig out some of the Yorkshire marshals running for the change as the drivers go past...... ;)

Pammy - that's the Swinton crossroads - a notorious jump which flicks the tail up unlike the classic 'yump'

lol - can't say I know it. My first ever proper boyfriend lived in Swinton - but that is in the very dim and distant past - can't remember any rogue crossroads at all:D :D
