Hello, on the dashboard I am getting a service due warning as a B1 service. However, mercedes me reopts a A service (when clicked on the email that reminds of the service). Can anyone let me when why there is a difference? The last service was done by an indie and believe it was A3 or A4 service.

Thanks in advance.

How old is the car and mileage. Is it automatic?

It's 7 years old car, 54000 miles
Afaik an a service is the same as a b except for additional items , in your case 1 which is likely to be brake fluid ( usually every 2 years ) or cabin pollen filter or dust filter above the battery, . Id believe the car over what me tells you . It's what the ess says at the end of the day .

B1 is Service B plus brake fluid change.

Without knowing the full history, it's difficult to know what's due.

If the car was serviced to the manufacturer's specification from new, and also never had an additional service due to mileage, then the seventh service would have been a Service A, plus ATF change (if automatic).

The eight service would have been a big one: Service B, plus brake fluid change, air filter change, and sparks plug change.

(The cabin filter is replaced at each Service B as part of the service and isn't charged for separately)

But, again, without knowing the car's full service history it's difficult to know what's due.

Regarding the DSB and ASSYST, they rely on what has been updated via the DSR and STAR (respectively), and so it's difficult to know if they are accurate. The car's ASSYST is probably more accurate - although it has been known to change half way through...

EDIT: The above is applicable to a petrol W205, the schedule may be different for the petrol hybris W205.
