How is that!
Little so and so decided he wanted to make an appearance in triple quick time - before anybody else could get here to help!
Wifes waters broke about 11.30 - contractions started in earnest at 11.40 when we called the maternity clinic (and MIL to come round to look after no.1 son)
Midwife called back at 11.51 to arrange to come out - advised her it may be an idea to get a serious move on
2nd son makes an appearance at 11.55
Call 999 at 11.57 - "err, all appears OK but what do we do now???"
Ambulance and MIL arrive 20 mins later (cue some rapid explaining from me as MIL clearly assumed worst)
Midwife finally gets here 20 mins after that looking slightly bemused! (and also fearing bad news)
Everybody OK - to be fair it all happened so quickly there's not much I did other than fetch as many towels as I could and make sure everybody was comfortable! Well done wifey.!
(note to the girls as they want to know this stuff - just over 6lb, boy, no name yet) and we are only sure of the timings on the phone calls as everybody had to check through their system - we really had no idea when he was born between about 11.45 and 12.15 as it was all a little hectic but they all got a bit serious over what date he was born on, apparently it's important.
And all credit to the ambulance service - 999 operative and medics were excellent
