Discovery 4 and C63
Evening,
After about a year of indecision I finally put down a deposit on a 2012 calcite coupe. As luck should have it I will be picking it up from MB birmingham at the end of this month. Question is - should I go straight to MSL for the remap on the day of collection!?
I had tested a 997 GTS and also looked briefly at a Maserati Granturismo however as competent as the 911 was it didnt make me smile like the c63 and is almost twice the price. The maserati was beautiful but the servicing costs scared me....

Welcome. Great choice of car the C63. Porsche is awesome, Maser hmm...

Now explain, are you a pilot ?

You mean you are a computer programmer?

Hope you enjoy your C63. About to sell mine. 30 months old 10,400 miles. You will enjoy the performance. My only complaint are the dashboard rattles...they drive you mad.

Straight to MSL with it. You'll leave smiling even more!

Programmer... Nah, nobody really understands it! Masters degree in circuit breaker resets though...

Previous cars have been vx220, z4m, a quick year with a cadillac and now with children and living in surrey we have a discovery. I have been using my wifes old r53 mini cooper s convertible for the past 2 years and it has taken me that long to bite the bullet and go for the c63 as each time I keep thinking that the mini we have had since new and costs effectively zero to tax, service....fuel but the v8 demon has finally had his way!

I have read all there is about gutting secondary cats and eurocharging but I was unsure if I should live with the car for a while before doing anything or just kill 2 birds with 1 stone whilst in Birmingham... Thoughts?

Calcite Coupe a fine choice. For a long time I thought my C63 would be exactly that. Enjoy!

Hi ya,

I will help you decide tomorrow, I just had mine de-catted and remapped but was to damp on the wy home to try the power. Have a diff change lined up so a good start.

Congrats on the C63 :thumb:

Regarding the diversion to MSL on the way home, all I'd say is that if anything turns out to be not right with the car, you will have screwed your right to reject it if you've modded it. Personally, I'd give it a few weeks to make sure you've got the car you think you have and then do the work. A happy by-product of that is that you'll be able to feel the difference that MSL make to the car too.

Wise words phil...
I think I will be struggling for time anyway so I think one step at a time is the sensible approach. It will also allow my neighbours to get used to the 4.30am affalterbach alarm!

A couple of my neighbours have told me that their alarm clocks have become redundant since I've had my E63... :o

keep it stock until you get used to it....then every mod you do will be appreciated that bit more. And there is a lot of mods you can do to a C63

Congrats on the C63

As above see how the car is and then do any mods once your used to it, you'll notice the difference.

+1 for leaving for a while.
First drive is Wow! this is quick!
Drive it around for a few weeks, still thinking quick.

Then you get it remapped and Holy Crap! This car is quick!
So you get two first drives that make you laugh like a loon.

But be warned, it will get addictive! You meet some great addicts at MSL.

Tony
