Diamond cut refurb, Yorkshire?

C63 AMG
My newly acquired C63 is a mint car, aside from one thing, the 19" AMG alloys look to have been cleaned with wheel acid or similar, and therefore the lacquer has started to peel and leave the alloys cloudy and flaking in parts, that and a few curb marks around them.

Could anyone recommend a decent and reputable company who could repair the wheels to a finish matching the original(diamond cut face, anthracite insides)?

Thankyou

AP Tyres in Rotherham did my Monoblock VI diamond cut and did a good job, pop in and discuss it with them but ask for Paul the owner and tell him Ian of MB Club sent you :thumb:

i ended up not bothering having mine re-cut, no matter how well you look after them they won't sparkle for ever and you can only re-cut them so many times, so i had them blasted & powder coated ... controversial or what!?!

Mine are still sparkling 6 years on well 3 of them are as one is only just over a year old, thanks to SWMBO power slides destroying the original  The refurbed one I have to admit is slightly duller than the rest but you have to look very hard to tell.

you're a better man than me... i've had diamond cut wheels twice now and never managed to keep them respectable :(

Autoglym wheel protectant, then Poorboys wheel wax seems to work, but also to be fair it does not get much Winter use which obviously helps

I'll give them a call mate, thankyou :)I've not seen another 63 with wheels like this, as I say the garage said some idiot used wheel acid on them when valeting, and I got a fair chunk off the car for that, I'm unsure how to have them done, I love the original finish but want them mint, and to last ! That and I don't know what colour would suit silver?

AL3X i had my diamond cut done yesterday, but gave up on trying to keep them that way.
They are stunning to look at but the hassle of keeping them that way is hard work.
You can get them recut and just one stone chip can breach the lacquer and thats it gone again water will seep in and you get the white snail trails.
Took mine to the wheel specialist in chester who have done a fantastic job on them, they are nation wide and with a bit of a haggle i got all four done for £350.
Thats powder coated and a wet finish tyres off .
They do a very nice range well worth a look.

If you want Powder Coated finishes in Yorkshire only one place to go

Prices and Colours for Metal Magic Wheel Refurb

Tell him I sent you and you will get all 4 done for around £200 in whatever finish you want. These guys do work for Ferrari and celebrities cars and are top notch, I keep telling them they don't charge enough but they make a living and I guess that is why they are stacked out with work

Sorry gentlemen completely forgot about this topic!

I'm torn between what to go for, I love the OEM diamond cut look but I really don't want to be getting them done every year or so.

However I can't think of a suitable powder coat colour that would compliment it as well, my car is silver if anyone has any suggestions?

Wish they came all black standard tbh, Think the diamond cut makes the wheel look smaller, Want mine refurbed all matt black but the car is brand new & the wheels are mint!

Swap for my wheels with lacquer flaking and the cost of a refurb?

Then your new ones can go to good use! Haha

I've just spoken to AP tyres in Rotherham, seemed more than helpful and offered to loan me a set of wheels whilst mine are refinished!

He's offered me a price of £80 per wheel which I think is spot on

They're just waiting for a new machine to do diamond cutting which is handy as I'd rather get winter out of the way!

Does anyone have any pics of there work?

Will send you some of the one they did for me :thumb:

That would be great :)
Thanks

Essentially the same John(?), just depends on which your car has as standard I suppose.

A refurb/refinish can be painted, powder coated, diamond cut etc..

I have been told diamond cut is more likely to corrode quicker than powder coat, however my c63 has diamond cut wheels originally and look fantastic so I'd opt to keep that if possible.

I know where i had mine done they offered a chrome finish if you want them really flash.
