Still havnt told me those ways of detecting the ECU remap? but never mind.

Surely the mech would know as soon as he test drove the car.

I know some of the Ford remaps are sold with a hand held jobby so you can remove map before servicing and reflash afterwards so no evidence, surely the tuner wouldnt do that unless they had to?

??? what if then i got a spare ecu from my model and had that remapped and just swapped when under inspection? is it as easy to just "swap" like for like

Not so easy when you are in hospital after an accident & your car is in the insurance companies nominated garage for inspection prior to being written off or repaired.

Don't even do all that, just re-map the damn thing and if you want to tell you insurance company then thats really down to you!

yeah you got a point there its a lot easier to just have the remap done and decalair it !!

I removed my Brabus D4 box today and had my car remapped, my first impressions are there isn't much difference. I thinkthe torque from the D4 is only in a small band where as the remap is across the whole range, the remap also produces slightly less smoke.

If anyones interested i will be selling the Brabus box soon.

I may be interested in the Brabus D4. I have a few questions about it.

Is it a plug and play device? How long did you have it on the car for and for how many miles. How much do you want for it?

I have a CLK 270 cdi. I a interested in how you upgraded your spec as you have them under Mods. I have been thinking of an AMG back box but don't know where to get one from. Was it bespoke for the CLK cdi or was it designed for a different CLK? Did you retrofit the bodykit? You can PM me with the answers if you wish.
