Different Front & Rear Offset ?

Now treat yourself to some metal dust caps. Halfords do them cheap enough. Buy two or three packs though, cos they have a tendancy to vanish occasionally!

Vanishing is least of your worries. Make sure you use grease when you put on, or having your valves cut off and paying to have new fitted may be the only way of ever adding air to your tyres again!

The old wheels are steel and the bolts are only about an inch long. Checked with the dealer and he confirmed I need the SLK bolts as they are about twice the length. (He also said to watch out that they aren't too long as he's had peole come in who have snapped the handbrake cable inside the rear drum if the studs are too long)

Mercedes only quote one part number for wheel nuts for alloys in their wheel brochure

B6 6 47 0111

The same part number applies to all alloys from A Class through to SL .... S Class & ML Class have a different part number, so I'm assuming the ones I had should be OK !

I can understand the steel wheel nuts not fitting - I assume they are talking about third party ones which may be too long.

Those wheels look really good. Good choice. I think most people, who saw the auction know what you paid, so would you mind telling us/me?

I had metal dust caps when I first got my CLK, but gave up and went to plastic after they had been stolen several times. Looked good when they were on though :D .

Get my new wheels next Saturday. Can't wait  . My existing ones will then become my winter set.

Cheers

Andrew

I paid £340 on eBay - seems like geek has managed to find some amazingly cheap ones though on loot.com! There are another set on eBay as well at the moment if anybody is interested !
