Hi folks,

anyone know why the two keys I have operate differently? One key, you push unlock sign once - drivers door only opens you then push again if you want all other doors open. T'other key doesn't give you this option it only unlocks the entire car.
I tried removing the batts and waiting a few minutes then re-installing but it's still the same.

Not major stuff I know, just interested.

Cheers,

David

its a feature, sir.. :D

you can set it with a combination of pressing buttons and turning of keys. i dont knwo the procedure, but my old 202 did this when i got it, and i remember changing it.

Don't know if this is of any help, but with my SL320, you hold the open and close buttons down together for 4 seconds. Watch the red LED on top and when this flashes (after 4 secs) you know the functionality of the key has changed (toggles between the two settings).

I think you hold the lock and unlock keys down together for a few seconds to change it, your owners manual should tell you.

RichardM's right. Just hold the lock and unlock bottons on for about 8 secs untill it flashes a few times and it changes from unlocking the whole car to just the drivers door and fuel flap. Same again and it reverts back to locking/unlocking the other way. :bannana: :bannana:

Hi Guys,

Thank you loads you'r spot on, did as you suggested and yes the key toggles between the two states.

Thanks again I wish I could find the problem of finding a partner to share life with as easily as merc problems are solved!!!

Thanks again,

cheers

David

Even better if you find a button that toggles between the two moods of an existing partner :D
