IF you have the guage.

Pluggers retro fitted one I am sure. Try a search.

I'm sure there is a HOWTO for that.

... it should really come standard, dont you think?
I think it did on later models, however, it was an optional extra on the earlier ones. The sensor should be located in the front bumper, near the bottom of the apron slightly towards the near side of the vehicle.

It is a pretty handy thing to have.

Couldn't agree more - especially at this time of year. I really miss it if it's not on a hire car. I would always look for it on any car I got in the future.

If you can see the display in the light then its clearly already fitted, like mine. The problem then is where do you connect the sensor to.

I bought the sensor + lead. I cannot get the cluster out no matter what. The best I can do is tilted forward and slightly out on the left hand side. There is no separate guage like Pluggers. There is only the two cable loom connections at the rear top of the cluster. I spent ages with a torch and a dental mirror trying to see how to a. get the cluster further out and b. how to get the LH cable plug out to see if thats where the sensor lead plugs in.

All to no avail  - give it a go - 'how to' feedback appreciated

Clusters are stiff but with a good solid contant pressure from behind it will slide out

I can get the cluster forward but not past the base of the steering wheel cushion or to the left past the cruise control lever - next step is 'snap'!

Persevere - you WILL get it out!

Just try various different angles etc, and it will eventually clear the steering wheel etc.

Best to try it nice and calm, eg in the daytime on a quiet weekend. :)

Good Luck,

Will

Yes, keep trying, it does come out! Up and to the Left as I remember... might be an idea to put some cloth over the cruise stick so that it doesn't scratch/mark the cluster as you take it out too.
