I'll swap you!. Mine is definately on the blink. Its making some very strange noises and needs a reboot at the very least. Failing that I may try re-installing it or better still upgrading it for a faster, more efficient, younger model.
Got a Dell Inspiron 6000 with all the trimings thats sitting in a drawer doing nothing, far as i remember it 1gb ram, 100+ gig drive, xp, ati 128mb graphics 15.4 wide screen etc.
it *might* even still be under warranty (3 year job) but not sure, would need to check.
it's a bit noisy and a bit heavy (which is why i got rid of it) but other than that it's quite good.
Just a word or warning if your selling second hand laptops. If you have been on your on line banking or sites you may not want other people to see its worth doing a Kill disk or similar and then reinstalling the operating system.
I recently sold my old laptop and was advised this after a colleague at work said a 'gang' was buying cheap laptops of fle bay and recovering details of the individuals accounts off them.
Ok it might be a long shot but I'd rather have the disk wiped.

This was on a TV programme last year, Panorama I think.
People took their old computers to a waste recycling dump and the systems were then shipped out to places like Nigeria.
IIRC, out of 20 hard drives the team bought, 17 were read and details were found.
They even knocked on the doors of the old owners in the UK to tell them about it.
