I think I have asked in the past, but never got 100% confirmation this could be done.

Is it possible to completely disable the front foglights via STAR?

Im planning to replace them with Hella DRLs (round, fit in the foglight housing) but dont want the constant dash error. As the previous owner fitted HIDs in the fogs I dont want them simply hanging in the wheel arches either.

Mate, try the merc specialist in milton, he coded my cluster for me on STAR and seems to know what he is doing with it!

Not sure fogs can be disabled via star, but if not, then you could always add a loading resister similar to the 5w resisters used to enable LED lights without errors?

I could do with knowing this too, as I have the bulbs strapped up behind the grilles.
Does look good when you unlock the car and they shine through the grilles though :)

Thanks, but I want to completely rid the car of them.

Cheers, he in the units infront of Tescos?

Was the CLS ever offered without fogs, i.e. were they optional? If yes, then simply code the SAM for fogs absent.

are your DRLs going to be round?

These perhaps?

Yep, they are the ones. fit perfectly in the foglight housings and look identical to the ones fitted to some new Volvos.

OEM light output aswell :)

Hi,
I have been wondering this myself, on my Audi it is possible to actually code the fogs to act as DRLs, and I was wondering if something would be possible in STAR to do something similar, in your case it would be ideal as you could then use the OEM wiring for the DRLs.
Did the 219 ever have DRLs from the factory, maybe in the later models?

Theres the constant headlight mode available in the cluster, but thats only the dipped beam.

good to see you are not tampering with the look of the car!

how will you control the DRLs so they go off/dim when the normal lights are on?

Units on e-bay.
Simple job to wire in.

They come with the correct relays etc to do this. decent (but pricy) kit.

Wanted to keep it looking OEM as possible.
