Following a recent thread on here about possibly holding a GTG in the Nottingham/Newark area there was quite a lot of high profile member interest feedback from the thread.
If anyone who lives/works in this area can suggest a venue (large pub, meals, even larger car park) then i'll take it from there & try & make this a possibility. :thumb:

DONT FORGET the CAMBRIDGE(shire)GTG THIS SATURDAY (21st) :bannana:

I'm up for this as its only a short drive for me but don't really know the area well enough to recommend anywhere other than THIS place is great but not if it is suitable in terms of location? but please keep me posted

regards
Ian

RAM JAM = BLACK BETTY.

Whoa, Black Betty (Bam-ba-Lam)
Whoa, Black Betty (Bam-ba-Lam)
Black Betty had a child (Bam-ba-Lam)
The damn thing gone wild (Bam-ba-Lam)
She said, "I'm worryin' outta mind" (Bam-ba-Lam)
The damn thing gone blind (Bam-ba-Lam)
I said Oh, Black Betty (Bam-ba-Lam)
Whoa, Black Betty (Bam-ba-Lam)

Would this be the one? (Now showing signs of miss spent youth :cool:)

LOL.

I still listen to it nowadays.

Try driving slowly with that cranked up on the hi-fi.

Does it have a LARGE car park ?

As I remember it yes, but that was in my biker days as its a favourite meeting place have seen over 100 bikes in there and if my memory serves me correct I think it shares the car park with another establishment so it is quite large but don't quote me on that as my memory is not what it used to be, think I have destroyed most of what brain cells I have left by Shiraz :D

Looks reasonable check THIS out in satellite view Postcode LE15 7QX

Sorry about that satellite view below

Thanks for that, certainly looks ok. I'll wait & see if there are any more suggestions first, but its on my list. :thumb:

In the interest of widening the debate, I offer the following suggestion:

The Rose Cottage at Rufford - on the A614 near Center Parcs/Edwinstowe/Ollerton.

There's a lovely kart track (a proper one) across the road if we all get bored...!

But happy with any suggestion really.

Ram Jam is also good as I like to have a quick look at the Harriers at Cottesmore when passing!

Great suggestion and even closer for me :thumb:

That looks good Corned, do you know if there is a large car park,or can you do an aerial view like Flanaia1 did (see post 12) ? Particularly like the idea of the go-karts !

The car park is adequate, I would say. Not that much different to the RJ by the looks, but probably a little smaller if I am being honest.

How many do you think we are likely to need to accommodate?

Funnily enough, I don't think that is actually the Rose Cottage, Ian. I can see that is what the label says, but I don't think that's it!

A-ha! Your piccie is about 200 yds south of the target. That's a lodge house for the nearby estate!

It's on the junction of the A614 and B6034. Car park is below the pub itself in the picture.

You beat me to it I was just going to post this wider view and ask if it was the building on the corner and the go kart track to the top. Google Maps not that accurate then
