At the top of the M62 entering into Liverpool, there is a speed camera set at 50mph.

We were driving back from liverpool and as usual.. there was traffic backing up the west bound side.. traffic was stationary but the camera was flashing!!!!

Why would this be? there is no way any of the cars would have been exceeding 50mph.. they were at a standstill!

If there is something triggering it, it is going to take a picture (or, of course, it could be faulty, in which case the pics show no offences...)

Examples of things that might trigger the radar, could include the rotating vent on the top of an animal transporter, fan close to the front of a vehicle grill, that sort of thing.

The pic is independent of the trigger, so shows no evidence of an offence.

:)

so , just out of curiocity ...

Ive seen traffic lights jam on red with RED light cameras on them.

What do you do in that case?

Drive through extremely slowly if you're sure they are not working. Then call the police on the non-emergency number reporting the light fault- Should more or less cover you methinks!

That camera has flashed me a total of six times but i have never got a NIP
last on was in dec 2006 .It is a rubbish one
