I have a MB Cradle (Sony T610) for my pre-wired 2005 CLK. Occasionally I put the telephone in the cradle and it beeps indicating it has started to charge but is not "seen" by the car - ie the dashboard computer and COMAND keep saying "Insert telephone". I have tried 2 T610's and both do the same thing, so i am presuming it is either the cradle or a fault on the car. The car is under warranty still but the cradle was bought from another MBClub user on here so i am presuming can not be tested under warranty.
The design consists of some very small connectors that have to make contact with the connectors on the telephone (which I have cleaned). They seem to be spring loaded but some of them are a little further back than the others.
I am presuming (hoping!) that the fault lies in the cradle - has anybody took a cradle to bits and if so is there anyway the brass connectors can be pushed out a bit?
Can these be tested at all or are they a "throw away" part?
