I have just read in the French press that as of 1st Jan this year, an agreement between France and the UK has made it possible for you to get points on your licence for offences comitted in France. You would still pay the fine to the French authorities but DVLA will be informed of your offence and apply the revelant penalty points.
Interesting to say the least when you know how the speed cameras system is run in France and when you bare in mind that not so long ago France was found guilty of breaching the Human Rights Act with regards to their so called appeal procedure against speeding fines...
