E Class - too big?

I sat in an Audi A7 recently...what a revelation.

Did you like it?

My cousin had (before the BMW) a B7 A4, solid doesn't cover it. Lovely car. Later Audis seem a tad tinnier (sampled a Q7 where trim fell off and it was split new at the time)

My present car is running well but I do like the mods on the latest models. Thinking of changing my MB and had thought of a coupe - C or preferably E.250cdi or 350cdi However, reading this thread I now wonder about a W212 E saloon. Does this have the 7 speed box? Not sure we really need to carry passengers very often so the coupe would be a nice change. Any comments?

The new 2011 E250cdi has the new 7g-tronic plus box. It is excellent. Have driven both the 5 speed auto and the curent 7g tronic, and this box is much better in smoothness; miles per gallon etc. However, it is a new auto box. So, don't know if it will be reliable.
