If one has access to STAR, what mods can be performed? Ones I know about (I think!) are

Low Tyre pressure warning
Cornering lights
Auto folding mirrors

Any more for any more?

Also, my W211 is in on Thursday to get the cigar lighters sorted (I understand that this could be related to electrical glitches on pre-facelift models) Any other "features" I should get them to look at? :bannana:

I would be interested in it as well. Already have folding mirrors but tyre pressure warning lights and cornering lights would be good :D But dont they need any extra kit rather then just software mods?

That's what I'm hoping someone will tell me before tomorrow. If anybody knows it will be on this forum!

Fuel tank content display is useful.

Cornering lights, I believe come with Xenons. I recall we tried to enable cornering lights on my B class which doesnt have Xenons and were unsuccessful at that time. Must try it again me thinks.

R2D2 had this function turned off on his car due to a couple of near misses where oncoming vehicles were confused by the lights:eek:

Thats a nice one Alfie. I do have xenons so I suppose cornering lights is a possibility?
Can a MB dealer do it or will they try to be painfull? I have yet to have my first experience of these dreaded creatures

What would happen if you coded a car for xenons that doesn't actually have them?
I am thinking of having the cornering light feature coded and was thinking it might not be available unless the xenon "flag" was set. Any thoughts?

Tyre pressure monitor has been set on my car, no extra hardware required :D

Cornering lights are the fog lights, not the main

I realise that Malcolm, I was thinking the menu option may not be visible in STAR unless the car had been coded for xenons.

I don't like the cornering lights and find them pointless.

I have known customers of mine to be pulled over by the police as they thought the fog lights were on and only one working.

I can see why the Bill might think that -

As I understand it the cornering function is deactivated at speeds above 40kph BUT the light may remain on for up to (but no longer than) 3min after the steering wheel has returned to the straight ahead or the indicator is cancelled.

The W211 E-class has several problems with soft-coding upgrades. Many of the pre-2004 models dont have support for all features.

So when you speak of E-W211 mods you need to specific month and year of the build. Otherwise it just gets hairy.

The garage agreed to do auto-folding and tyre pressure via STAR when I dropped it in but on collecting they tell me that it cannot be done??? That sound right?

Doesnt sound right to me!

If I am reading this right, does this mean that no additional parts are required for tyre pressure monitoring on my 2004 W211 E320 cdi Avantgarde?

Do I just need to take it to a dealer and have them enable it through STAR?

If so that is a great mod! :bannana:

But my sceptical side wants to know where is the catch?
