Going to fit a seperate gearbox oil cooler to my 52 w211 e320cdi but need to know what sort of size i will need. Has anyone got info on which cooler will be suitable please?????
want to get this done asap.

thanks in advance

Nope, I believe my rad has been changed (and box renewed), so I think my rad is as solid as any other 'regular' rad. I am going to get ATF flushed in next summer, TC lock valve checked (there is a small single jerk at 1st gear when pulling off) etc. so it could be good time to fit that rad too.

Those pictures in Finnish forum are from guy who actually sells them too, but rad is some common water/oil cooler (pages seems to be down just now I cannot check what he says). In last post there is a link to oil thermostat. Put that url to google translator, if you want to get more info...

Dont think i will bother with a thermostat to be honest.

ive been looking at 2x coolers. 1 is 10 row & 1 is 13 row. Not sure which would be best as dont want to over cool the box.

its the mocal 1 on ebay. 235mm wide. Which do you think would be best??

Thermostat would prevent the over cooling...

In that Finnish thread 10 row cooler was changed later to 13 row in order to gain more cooling, so I think 13 row is better especially when your climate is much better than our (currently -22C ).

Just one reminder: if you have distronic, you cannot install new radiator in front of the engine rad, the radar is there!
