E63 AMG Blog begins....

Blimey Tom, didn't realise you'd opted for the Merc, that's good to hear though.
It does feel light years ahead and my current plan is to use the AMG as a stop gap before getting into the C7. Who knows though, I could fall in love with Merc and prefer it to the C7.

So you love yours then?

I looked and drove a C7 and as much as i loved it, i like the Merc a bit more, i just find it a total dream to be in every time.
It sounds amazing, its comfier than the RS especially if you opt for the massage, muti contour seats.
Plus the C7 is getting on now and is due a refresh very soon, i'll be moving to a new E63 when i get the chance, 100% converted to Merc's

I think you'll fall in love with the E63, personally try and find a AMG "S" and a high spec one if you can.
Your more than welcome to drive mine if you want!

Couldn't agree more. I don't have the `S` but I do have a very loaded E63.
Massaging tricky seats wrapped in Designo cream leather....it`s an absolute joy to be inside.....and all the parking/lane assist toys too !

in a nutshell I am a very happy bunny, Audi are wayyyy behind.

I have had two TT`s and an RS4, both couldn't hold a flame to the AMG...

I found the perfect estate up at a dealer in Shrewsbury so phoned up yesterday only to be told that it had been sold.... Gutted. It was the only estate with ventilated and dynamic seats.
S estates seem even rarer to be honest.

No facelift cars (estates) currently for sale have dynamic seats

S models are like hens teeth anyway. Apart from the LSD and a little more power, I don't` see an extra £5k anyway.....

If you're wanting an estate, what about the CLS 63?

Yeah looked at those but I personally prefer the E Class. I imagine the boot space is also reduced and unfortunately, I'll use all of it.

Everything above makes for great reading, especially as I'm hoping to get into an E63 estate soon.

My RS6 Avant (C6) is great but it's dated inside now and I notice this even more so after driving a Merc last week.

Hopefully I can contribute with some real life experience soon.

There's something about an estate AMG that arouses me more the a saloon/coupe :bannana:

It's because they're faster!!!

Not when they're 80kg heavier than their saloon cousins ;)

Each to their own, but not sure how you could favour the E63 Estate over the CLS63 SB - the rear and that roof make it a truly stunning car

80kg doesn't matter in a car like E63 nor CLS63 for that matter. Estate may not be a looker but it has unrivalled amount of charisma in the range. It's a bit like a fat dude that can run 100m in sub 10s and finish with a summersault. Cls63 is a bit of a poseur, no offence

None taken :) If we all liked the same things the world would be a boring place

I think I prefer the E63 saloon looks-wise in those shots.

Well just found myself sat down for 10 minutes reading through everyone's posts then realised I have to get back to working, but before that just wanted to say awesome thread, hopefully one day I can afford that e63 the things an animal only drove one once but compared to the new m5 it's so much nicer to be in, Mercedes have stepped there game up lately and leaving BMW and Audi behind.

Something is wrong here he is not drawing his pension yet ;0)))

Gents, is it worth holding out for a car with dynamic and ventilated seats for residual reasons?

Residual and personal reasons..... they are fabulous !
The lumbers squeeze your ribs as you go round corners,,,,

And yes, I think you can command a little more money for this option on re-sale......unless of course its a dealer....

Nail on the head there dude, they are lightyears ahead, the adaptive cruise is better, you can wave your foot under the boot to open it, it sounds better than the C7/M5, i personally love the looks of the thing.

I have never felt so happy to be in a car constantly as this thing, i've done nearly 11k miles in just over 3 months that how much i cannot stop driving this thing.
My only niggle is the brakes even after a spirited a-b they just arent up to the task....

Thats such a shame! The seats 100% add to the car though, the massager is great on long journeys the ventilated seats are actually suprisingly good at preventing back sweat on hot days.
And the "dynamic" fucntion that pins the bolsters to you on every corner is really good espeically when your on it round the twisties, its actually very fast to change sides as well well impressed with that!

They are now arent they, i noticed that, when i was looking for mine there was quite a few but not anymore.

100% agree, i love the E class estate, but at the time of looking i couldnt find a good spec one so went saloon instead.

Same here! they just look so angry!

Personally yes i'd hold out... you'll thank us in the end!

Not sure that they will affect residuals much, but they certainly make the car more desirable and are a differentiator against other cars. More importantly though, they're fabulously comfy and make the car even more special than it already is.

If you can find one with the Driving Assistance Package (that includes Distronic cruise) too, even better :thumb:
