Nice one Steve, better than some of the ones I used to get on RS246 back in the day.

Definitely a bloke.

I have had my e63 since march. Due to work and travel i have only managed to put 2000 miles on it. I am going to take it on a trip down to Affalterbach in October though, which should put a few more miles on (currently only at 22k).

Just a question, i currently have M0 Continental Contisport 5P on the car.. do any of you run Michelin Pilot Super Sports and if so, what are your thoughts and comparisons?

Can't help with the question above I'm afraid but I have another question for you all.
I'm currently looking at a car that has a couple of months warranty left on it and I was wondering if it's worth looking at getting an extended warranty after it runs out?

I've done 10k in mine with no warranty and i've abused it to high heaven, its been serviced more times than ive had hot dinners but it gets constant abuse as soon as the oils upto temp.
I've (touchwood) not had any such issues, however my drop links and ARB bushes need some attension, i think the 4000 hard driving abroad has ruined them a bit.
But Drop links are cheap in real terms and wouldnt be touched under warranty being wear and tear anyway.
So personally i dont feel the need to pay the extra money.

Perfect thanks mate.

I've found a car I'm pretty keen on but I think the discs will need doing within the next 10k and the 60k service is due. Just got to haggle a bit now.

This question has been asked many times. I think its all down to whether you want the peace of mind and if you can justify the costs.... If it`s your daily drive and you are shoving 15k miles per year on it then I personally would rather have the warranty. If its a weekend toy and only getting 5k per year, I probably wouldn't bother...

I think Julian (Cyclone1) is running Mich PSS's on his CLS63 and is pleased with them.

I swapped from Conti 5P's to Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3's and find them better in all respects. The bonus is that they're a lot quieter too.

I had PSS's on my M5 Touring when I had it and they were superb.
Not just on the road but also on track.

I've also run Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta's which I was also very impressed with. Great value for money.

oooo what have you found? is the motor on 60k or is it due its 60k on years? if its a B0 service thats the expensive one.
AMG are doing a deal on service plans, i just took one out for 3yrs £41 a month and it covers 2 B0 services which is ideal as those are £600ish each and you keep your paint warranty and get free european breakdown cover and courtesy car etc through Mercedes themselves not a 3rd party.
On the disc side of things, if they are due i'd honestly attempt some form of upgrade, stock size discs really let it down on track.

True that, i think Mercs are mostly quite reliable and the M157 has been going a good few years now most running them mapped with no issues whatsoever.
Which sets me nice and relaxed, i just need to replace my front drop links and ARB bushes.
Think they've taken a beating lately! but MEYLE HD (used them on my RS6 and were really good) Replacements items that i can get for £36 delivered for a front pair.
Not bad, Rear pads i've just replaced with Brembo's (which are pretty much the OEM Merc pad being Brembo callipers anyway) @ a ginormous cost of £65

I had PSS before too on my Z4M Roadster and also thought they were excellent.

I still have 7MM on the Contis and really hope they bring out the Pilot 4S (they arent available for the rear - 285/35zr19) but PSS are available - even as a M01 / M0 homologation, so when it is time I will give them a try.

Just was wondering if anyone actually ran them on an E63 and could comment on the characteristics in this particular case.

Well I was going to PM you (try to prevent someone else from grabbing the car) with a link to the car but basically it's got 64k on the clock and it's due a service which will be the one with plugs.

What were you saying about brake discs mate?
