E63 AMG Blog begins....

Not sure that they will affect residuals much, but they certainly make the car more desirable and are a differentiator against other cars. More importantly though, they're fabulously comfy and make the car even more special than it already is.

If you can find one with the Driving Assistance Package (that includes Distronic cruise) too, even better :thumb:

I have most of the packs i think... the adaptive cruise and lane assist, parking assist etc is really ground breaking stuff, the car is so easy to use day to day, it doesnt feel big when parking and you dont have the turning circle issues you get on an Audi.
It really does bend round places very well, its quite agile for the weight in my opinion.

This is what makes a great car a fantastic car, it plays multiple personalites and although not a master at one its certainly well established in all departments!
You're right: it's the ability of the thing to do the extremes so well that make the E63 such a special car. I've now driven an E63 (well, this is my second, actually :D ) for over 3 years and almost 45k miles as a daily driver and it still makes me smile every day :thumb:

Yup I agree with Phil

I love mine, best car I've had the pleasure of owning.

Thats with mine having none of the packs unlike my last E63 which was pretty much fully loaded.

Its crazy, i was totally an Audi fanboy when i had the RS6, but driving my dads w211 E63 when having the GTR just made me think... wow what a car.
His W211 felt amazing to drive and the W212 is even more pinpoint.

I mean each to there own but i think i'll be sticking with Merc for a long time to come, something i've not ever done as i like to try different things but you cant really improve on perfection can you?
You get such a sense of pleasure and presence in the Merc, something i never got in the GTR/RS6.
Drove an M5 and hated it, felt alright but not as nice as the E63 and the interior really isnt for me at all.
The new E63 inside is just :rock::rock: gorgeous!

Well just found myself sat down for 10 minutes reading through everyone's posts then realised I have to get back to working, but before that just wanted to say awesome thread, hopefully one day I can afford that e63 the things an animal only drove one once but compared to the new m5 it's so much nicer to be in, Mercedes have stepped there game up lately and leaving BMW and Audi behind.

you and me both. iv just bought an A45, and given myself at least a year and a half to get into a C63s or an E63. Amazing cars. Audi and bmw cannot beat the brutal power of an AMG and im yet to drive a bmw or audi that wants to kill me or wants me wrapped around a tree which the c63 want at almost every corner you put your foot down.

I think this is what seperates the boring from the exciting, they AMG is very capable and safe.
But you have that part of your mind that knows its lark a snarling tiger and WILL kill you, its just an exciting car to drive... i dont know what exactly it is, its just got spades and spades of character.
it feels like your apart of the car when you drive rather than sat in the seat if that makes sense.

Its a car that does like to be driven, its a car that wants to drive you! Yes character that is miles ahead of its competitors

It's RWD, that's what it is, nothing like finding the limits of your capabilities in a 500+bhp AMG!

But so are Beemers and they dont feel half as fun....

Well fella, you've got it down to a tee. I've had mine slightly longer, 4 or 5 months & still feel just like you.

The last line sums it up. £40k for a car worth twice that new, with no miles on. Bargain of the century. I've had stuff a damn sight dearer and you can keep them!

Keep us posted.

Nige

Sorry if I am being thick! I am looking at buying a 3 year old E63 estate. What does the above mean when Nigel says £40k with no miles on. Am I missing something?

Cheers

Hi Guys, my first post here after a few months of lurking.

Got my first MB this week (sorry longman it's the one from Shrewsbury), E63 AMG Estate, loving it so far.
Came from an X50 911 turbo and have to say the E63 is so much better to be in 99.9% of the time, loving the seats.
Sound, power, dynamics all amazing. Feels like a much smaller car on the road than it is.

Hopefully will get some more posts up over the next few weeks.

Love a powerful estate car something built to be that practical should be illegal to go that fast, I mean come on who puts 400,500,600hp engines in an e class estate with seats for little kids in the boot it's so wrong in a totally awesome way lol.

Proper blokes car.

Son of a gun dog!!

No worries mate, I now know that I need to be quick when a car comes up with ventilated and dynamic seats.

Glad you're enjoying it.

Had you been looking for long and was it a case of just constantly searching the usual websites (Merc approved, eBay, AT etc)?

Hi longman, been looking for about 2 months, mainly on Merc Approved as I wanted the 2 year warranty.
Missed out on 2 as I didn't move quick enough so ended up looking twice a day and called Shrewsbury on the day it went up.
Have to say though I am pleased I missed the others, this one is a cracker and has a great spec

I jumped on mine, had only been for sale 3 days and he'd had 6 people interested, one was even due the day i left my deposit... i hadnt even viewed the car, i just rang Merc customer service and MSL and asked about the history of the car.
It got the thumbs up from both so i just bought it without even trying it.

Was a risk but it paid off!

To be fair I did the same with mine.
Had to pay for it before they would transfer it to my local dealer even though they were the same group
Didn't actually see the car until I picked it up this wednesday.
