EGR = Power Loss?

Reading this i still think you are not eliminating one of the most common causes which are the injectors.. For what you have spent you could have had a new set for around £300 and they are easy to fit...

I saw the photoes posted by Parrot of Doom times ago but mine is a 270cdi engine, quite different:)

No pics i'm afraid, but its very easy. Remove the top engine plastic trim cover, the silver one. Underneath you'll see a large black pipe going into a metal unit. There is a metal U clip which hold the pipe in place. Remove the clip and remove the pipe. You'll be able to see in there if its blocked or not.

If it is you can either try and clean it in situ or remove the unit form the car. Its a bit fiddly and you'll need the right tools to remove.

Ok so remouving that black pipe is quite easy, further dismountin seems more complicated, I'm wondering to clean it in situ, may I utilize WD40 spray to clean it?:D

Please a clarification: with engine switched off is it possible to well cleanit, since, may be, it's in closed position:confused:

PS: I don't have any specific problem at the moment, I only intent to perform a "prudent" maintenance:bannana: , someone will say, don't touch anything that work without troubles
 
I pay considerably less than that, i think my bosch ones were just shy of £80 each when i bought a set...

I normally bounce Euro GSF and KMS off each other until one gives me a price i like, they compete with each other fiercely in coventry..
 
Ive finally fixed it, changed the EGR valve and problem sorted, finally after 1 year of messing around. I told GF to change it first which he said he did, but all he changed was a transducer (without vacumn testing it).

Can you find out if you can still get them for that price. I may be tempted to change the remaining 3 on my CDI.
 
Just rang GSF, they are saying £125 each if buying 3, cant get through to euro to barter with them, will let you know..
