Engine cutting out

Hi, my 1999 E24O (60,000 miles) cuts out intermittently and then will not start again for a few minutes.
It was happening if I turned off the engine and then wanted to start it again soon after.
Now it also cuts out occasionally when I stop for any reason.
Any ideas please.

had a similar problem with mine / changed the coil packs . though mine had 260,000 km on it

Had to call AA out as it just cut out on coast road, managed to steer into side road.
Mechanic changed Crankshaft sensor, said it was common problem when engine warms up. Hope it's fixed now !

So popular that Mobilo roadside rescue cars carry them on-board to fix at the roadside (if it can be removed, as some are a awkward even in a workshop)

My guy shot off to get one, it was 5pm, he just made it! Nice cars by the way !
