EPC Light comes on with loss of power

I have 1997 c220 diesel which is all good, full history etc but it seems nearly every time I lift the throttle after cruising the EPC light comes on and the car loses power. If I turn off the ignition then back on again it clears.
Any advice would be great.

Hi mate ,

Some fault codes are resettable with the key off / key on procedure that you have outlined , but you really need to get the codes read to see what is causing it ...

A good indy , or if push came to shove , a stealership would read the codes in a few minutes , then you'd know what you were faced with.
