The new SLK is definately worth a look!
I borrowed an SLK 200 Kompressor from Germany a week or so ago and had great fun driving around the UK.
I guess it was much more of a headturner because it was so new but I love the new SLR inspired nose and the 2 fat chrome exhaust pipes at the rear.
Performance is nice but you have to work that poor little 1.8 supercharged engine and fuel wise the best I could get was 27mpg.
The handling is fantastic with great agility that is very difficult to upset even with the ESP switched off.
The folding roof is a little faster than its predecessor - 20 seconds from start to finish.
One little niggle though, in the boot you have 2 big hoses running from the base of the windscreen to the boot floor for water drainage. One hose wasn't fitted correctly which meant that on the way back to Germany I ended up with a soggy boot and soggy luggage.
Dashboard is a nice gunmetal silver affair with a cool metal gearknob. My car had the Comand APS 50 which gives you Europe wide navigation on 2 cd's.
The speedo does the clever kph/mph trick which gives you a speedo that goes all the way to 260mph!
Handbrake turns are not possible as yanking up the handbrake whilst the vehicle is in motion only results in a beeping sound!
