Experience with HIDS Direct LTD

Ohhh Grandpa - the chart is in Chinese and doe snot state what product it is......

I like the way you have adopted Chinese for this post.

The chart is in Japanese, not Chinese...

...because...as it says, it is for Solam HID lamps.

Perhaps your lights were too blue and dim to be able to read it.

Another pretty chart for you. Shows 8k to be pretty blue. But what do they know, they only make the damned things...

Err. I thought the normal complaint is that they have gone more yellow as they age.

Erm - you obviously don't know anything about xenon bulbs or HID kits like I pointed out to you before earlier.... over time they turn to a pink colour with age and use. Bit like you grandpa!!!! :D

Forgot to mention - in case you did not realise the colour of xenon bulbs shifts over use with time hence your stock 4300k bulbs appear to have a blueish tint now!

Err....Right...

Not quite - just don't see the point in dazzling other road-users and think it's quite a childlike thing to do. Kids love playing with torches, don't they.....

LOL - grandpa - you have not even got xenon headlamps and still live in the dark ages. Soon your licence will no doubt expire - happy motoring grandpa.

Just to summaries grandpa a 55w HID kit has considerably higher output (as much as up to 400%) than the standard halogen bulb!

Rite - I am now off to enjoy my evening with my beautiful stunning wife and daughter to which my wife has even stated not to bother even getting in to this stupid and idiotic behaviour with a few old men who quite clearly should not be on a forum that is too advance for them as they seem to be living back in the 1920s when cars were at their slowest and had no style whatsoever. She also hopes that everyone who does have their halogen fog lights on the road will blind all of you who moan about it!

Just because a comment was made about a company and a sub standard bulb so that no else got to experiences what I had does not give anybody the right to try and abuse and swear when they are in fact the immature parties involved themselves. Happy modifying for 2014 and grow up - ta ta :bannana::bannana::bannana:

And to all you grandpas out there enjoy 2014 at your best as it may be your last year....:D

PS. Reply and post as you please but I have got better things to do with my time and life but obviously there are some here who have not!

I think you need to read my original post and other posts - I have factory bi xenon headlamps BUT have upgraded the former halogen fogs with a 55W HID kit which is considerably brighter (and is rated up to 400% brighter than the standard 51w halogen fog kit) hence luminance is not the issue here or is being compared to 4300k bulbs - no where did I state that an 8k bulb has higher luminance than a stock 4300k bulb???

I thought luminance was an indicator of brightness?

"Luminance is thus an indicator of how bright the surface will appear"

Luminance - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Not to be confused with colour temperature, as temp increases luminosity decreases. There's clearly a reason why manufacturers go with 4300k ...

so the morale of this story is dont buy from HIDS Direct LTD??

anyway, I have learnt much about HID, lights and spectrum colour effectiveness - so thanks all

Sorry, can't help from commenting on this - this thread is a very accurate example of what's described in this thread: http://www.mbclub.co.uk/forums/general-discussion/164063-what-car-forums-really-like.html

Paragraph 6 is eerily similar to the above.

When your car breaks and you need help... No grandpas will be there to help you, good luck!

BTW, As one of the "younger" members on here, your posts embarrass me.

That was a good read. Luckily this forum isn't a democracy... Or you would be out.

No maybe it's nice to keep you for comedy value.

Who is this ar sehole?

A very angry little elf who just needs a snuggle.

I love the way you use Grandpa as an insult. Implies you know everything about everything, which clearly you don't.

So speaking as an ignorant grandpa, I'd just say grow up, do your research and stop acting like a 3 year old. Difficult, but make the effort please.

I like this example that shows difference in output, biggest challenge with demonstrating colour is the limitation of the camera and the white balance settings used.
